About Dianne Knight

Dianne KnightPassion for art has always been on the back burner, but after retiring from the banking industry, I decided life was too short and I needed to pursue this life time dream.

So after encouragement from my husband and further investigation, I discovered Ken Brown engraving names in calligraphy on little pocket knives with a dental drill at a local event.  This spurred my interest for engraving, so I enrolled in a course offered by Mr. Brown and purchased the required equipment, consisting of a drill and associated auxiliary equipment.

After working with the drill for a year, I felt there had to be more this little drill could do.  With a little investigation, I found Dr. Lew Jensen (a retired dentist) in Utah who invented the para -engraving system.  I purchased Dr. Lew’s system and was off to Utah to study for 10 days of the most exciting, exhilarating art experience I have ever had.  I was encouraged, coached and mentored during my stay and have received on-going support since from Dr. Lew Jensen and his staff, Keith and Craig Hones and Mary Hogue.

Dr. Lew taught me about para-graving system and opened my eyes to the potential of this equipment.  Keith and Craig Hone taught me delicate wood carving techniques and Mary Hogue taught me how to carve gourds.  What an awesome experience!   What a great support system Profitable Hobbies has become!
